Placement and layout of the park.

Met at the site of the Veteran's Memorial River Park, north of the public library.
Called to order at 8:02
Gottenberg moved Irey seconded to add Ashley Phan as a member of the Park Board.
Olson walked the path and marked it out. There will be two lights on the east side of the
park discussion of the tree on the northside of the park. No decision made.
Discussion of moving the evergreen tree. Adding forsythia and a crimson maple on the east
end of the park. Current location of benches. Discussed locations of the new benches.
Gottenberg suggested using a grass killer then adding wood chips to make mowing easier.
Fitzsimmons suggested that it looks more natural without pavers.
LIGHT PLACEMENT led lights were suggested. One placed center of park southside of
path. Placed benches. Possible donor plaque placed on west edge of the park near the
Do we need bike rack? Not really. Drain moved to allow for better drainage. Gottenberg to
place gardens. Olson left 8:23.
Gottenberg discuss tree placement. The X is the second flower bed. Six more trees to go in.
Maple is outside if the flower bed. Second bed to go from the maple to the birch.
Meeting moved into the library.
Irey moved Magnusson seconded the approval of the Feb 24th, 2010 minutes
Magnusson moved Fitzsimmons seconded the approval of the March 10th, 2010 minutes.
Gottenberg moved Magnusson seconded the approval of the March 31st, 2010 minutes,

Magnusson update with Chair Project. Steve Marsh and the shop class are fixing them.
They are gonna shellac and protect them and get them updated.
Gottenberg informed the board about the Rotary Peace Path north of Trinity. According to
their grant it must be done by June 30, but they really want to have it done by Friendship
Festival. Think about ways to recognize them with this feat. Add to next agenda to discuss.
Terra Fitzsimmons update on the Lake Region Electric donation for plants to place in the
Discussion of the original tree on the south bank of the Pelican River. Decided to let the
tree leaf out and make a final decision at a later date.
Gottenberg to draw out the rest of tree placement. VFW would like to donate to the park,
Zierke to follow up and find out their true wishes.
The curb has been given the go ahead. Zierke talked to the Senior Center and they are
concerned about the lost parking and the impact on their patrons. The retaining wall is a
little costly. Gottenberg to check to see if Wes Pere might be able to quote something
Lighting is it possible to add plug-ins as well for people to use if they have gatherings or
while using their laptops since the Library's wireless reaches throughout the park. .

Pere got the irrigation and
Fitzsimmons motion and Irey seconded the motion to accept the bid by Wes Pere. Motion
Irey need to talk to Solga about the Velo property.
Phan and Jensen left at 9:15.
Irey talked with Mary Nelson at Garden Pleasures discussed the flowers and watering
issues. Some people really bad about the watering issue. Irey to look at volunteers to help
